Gain experience, develop skills, and collect resources from Texas DeafBlind Community Leaders.
9am-1pm: Co-Navigation 101 Workshop
$40 Entry. Earn up to 0.4 CEUs (BEI Ethics)
Participants will learn entry-level skills for working with DeafBlind individuals in community spaces. Hosted by Heather Pavey and Tanya Arriaga, with special guest Erick Gallegos. As a part of this community conversation, we will discuss the effect of power, privilege, and oppression within the DeafBlind community and the effect of Distantism from support providers. Registration required to attend. Workshop will be provided in ASL, PTL, and English. Sign language interpreters, educators, and anyone interested in skills development are encouraged to attend!
