Base fee:
  • Adult who is 18 or older with both a hearing and vision loss who will pay for themselves
  • Adult who is 18 or older with both a hearing and vision loss with qualified Texas Medicaid Waiver
  • Interpreter, SSP/CN, Intervener, PCA, or Camp Nurse please complete this registration.

DBCTX Adult Camp 2024

Who can attend DBCTX?
 - Adults who are DeafBlind
 - 18 years of age and older
 - Has a combined hearing and vision loss
 - Able to participate in the fun!

Volunteers Needed!
Interpreters & Volunteers please register as a volunteer! CN training is provided. For completing both workshop and practicum, volunteers can receive up to 4.9 CEUs in Ethics/PPO (approval pending).

Training will be led by Heather Pavey, Camp Director 

CN101 WORKSHOP - Novice CNs, Aug 3-4

Participants who have little to no experience working as a CN, or those who need a refresher, are invited to participate in this training.

Participants will gain applicable skills for working with a diverse population of DeafBlind individuals in a variety of settings.

TSID is an approved RID CMP sponsor for continuing education activities. This Professional Studies program is offered for 1.2 CEUs at the "Little/No Content Knowledge Level" in Power, Privilege, and Oppression and Ethics. (approval pending)


CN201 WORKSHOP - Advanced CNs, Aug 3-4

Participants who have some experience working as a CN are invited to participate in this training. Access Team will screen participants for eligibility for this track.

Participants will build upon existing skills for working with a diverse population of DeafBlind individuals in a variety of settings.

TSID is an approved RID CMP sponsor for continuing education activities. This Professional Studies program is offered for 1.2 CEUs at the "Some Knowledge Level" in Power, Privilege, and Oppression and Ethics. (approval pending)


CN PRACTICUM - All CNs, Aug 4-9

All volunteers are invited to participate in this practicum. Participants will apply skills learned in CN 101 or CN 201 workshops in hands-on opportunities with DeafBlind Community Guests with ongoing support from Access Team instructors. 

TSID is an approved RID CMP sponsor for continuing education activities. This Professional Studies program is offered for 3.7 CEUs at the "Little/No Content Knowledge Level" in Power, Privilege, and Oppression and Ethics. (approval pending)

Cancellation permitted prior to the event by request. Please email camp@dbctx.org to facilitate a cancellation. The CN training is presented in a mix of PTL, ASL and English. Accommodations provided.
